Dear Mama,

First of all—you’re doing something really beautiful. You’re not just booking a photo session. You’re pressing pause on this fast-moving life to make sure it doesn’t all slip by unnoticed. I know it probably feels a little intimidating right now. You might be wondering:

“What if my kids don’t cooperate?”

“I have no idea what we’ll wear.”

“I don’t even feel camera-ready myself.”

Let me gently say this: you are not alone in those feelings. Almost every mom I work with expresses the same exact thoughts. And I want you to know—you do not have to be perfect for these photos to be priceless.

This Is About Connection, Not Perfection

Your session isn’t about stiff poses or perfect smiles. It’s about capturing your family as you are right now—in all the joy, chaos, snuggles, and silliness. It’s about the way your child reaches for your hand. The way you look at your baby when you think no one’s watching. The moments you’ll wish you could hold onto forever. And yes, sometimes there are meltdowns, messes, or unexpected detours—but I promise you, those moments still matter. Sometimes they matter even more.

You’re Allowed to Be in the Photos Too

I know, mama. You’re usually the one behind the camera. You’re the one documenting all the little milestones, the sweet sleepy faces, the giggles. But you deserve to be remembered too.

Not just your kids. Not just their smiles. But you. The way you looked at them. Held them. Loved them.

One day, your children will look at these photos and see something even more powerful than a moment frozen in time—they’ll see how deeply they were loved.

I’ve Got You

You don’t have to know how to pose. You don’t have to get your toddler to sit still. You don’t have to show up knowing what to do. That’s my job. And it’s one I take seriously—with lots of patience, gentle guidance, and a deep understanding of how real life (and real motherhood) works. I'm a mama, too.

So breathe easy. Bring the snacks, the favorite toy, the backup outfit if needed. Come as you are. We’ll go at your family’s pace. And together, we’ll create something honest, tender, and meaningful.

You’ll Be So Glad You Did This

Not just now, but years from now—when your baby isn’t a baby anymore. When your toddler is taller than you. When your house is quiet and you’re flipping through albums of the life you built.

So if you’re nervous, that’s okay. If you’re unsure, that’s okay too. Just know that this matters. And that I’ll be there, every step of the way, to make sure you’re seen, supported, and celebrated.

With so much love,

Lilly
